Summer memories often revolve around family and friends gathering in the sunshine for a picnic or a swim, so be sure to get your fill of summer fun at one of these awesome Whistler beaches!
Green Lake: The one and only lake in Whistler that you can put a wakeboard or ski boat in. If your ideal beach day consists of being towed behind a boat, this is where you’ll want to be. Watercraft rentals are available near the lake as well as floatplane tours. Little ones love to see the floatplanes land and take off from shore. The main park has picnic tables and is known for great fishing.
Alta Lake: The lake with the most beaches! Alta Lake is second in size to Green Lake, but boasts the most public beaches on a single lake here in Whistler. It’s central location between the Main Village and the Creekside Village makes it the most accessible lake by car or from the valley trail. Lakeside Park in Alta Vista has a sandy beach, a small kids play park, picnic tables and BBQs. There are two docks, one floating dock and a rental center for canoes, stand up paddle boards and kayaks. You can start your journey down The River of Golden Dreams from here or from Wayside Park ending in Green Lake with a rental floating deceive and optional river guide. Wayside Park is the smallest park along Alta Lake, but has great shaded picnic tables and sunny grass areas to lay out in. Rainbow Park is the largest park on Alta Lake and has a great sandy beach with shallow water for kids to enjoy. Lots of open grass space with scattered picnic tables and BBQs as well as 3 large volleyball courts. There is a separate off leash dog park with it’s own dock at Rainbow Park. All parks on Alta Lake have washrooms but are locked at sundown.
Nita Lake: Nita Lake is a hidden gem! This small beautiful lake is the best place to enjoy a float with fishing gear. Nita Lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout. Nita Lake feels very private and selected but is set up with its own dock and small pebble beach.
Alpha Lake: Unique to Alpha Lake are the tennis courts and sandy volleyball courts. Slackline posts are set up in a grassy area next to picnic tables. Kids love the impressive play park at Alpha Lake beach. A great off leash Dog Park complete with its own dock neighbors the main beach.
Lost Lake: Easily accessed from the main village, Lost Lake is a local and visitor favorite. Lost Lake has a walking and biking path around the perimeter with various notable stopping points including a large dock, dog park and the main beach area. The main beach has washrooms, grassed area and a sandy beach with a floating dock as well as slacklining posts.
