Greetings from Whistler,
I hope you all got the opportunity to see the most amazing Super Blood Wolf Moon January 20th. If you missed it, there are plenty of postings online. Whistler was stunning, with the spectacular moon was shining and the stars sparkling, it was magical. And then it snowed last night, the perfect setting for all the skiers and boarders. Whistler has been enjoying some fabulous weather and more snow is on the way tonight!
The Village is alive with activity from the free family Apres on Monday and Wednesdays at Olympic Plaza to escape from the cold and explore an array of unique, handmade treasures at Whistler’s favorite indoor artisan market, Saturday’s 12-5 at The Westin. You’ll find handcrafted jewelry, pottery, fine art, unique fashions and artisanal foods – the perfect gifts for yourself and your loved ones. Sunday nights the Fire and Ice show starts at 7. Watch world-class athletes flipping and twisting through a burning ring of fire, then finish the night off with a first-class fireworks display. Definitely worth adding to your Whistler to do list!
We have invited you to our Whistler Real Estate presentation called The View From Here taking place at the Maury Young Arts Center on Feb. 2nd at 1:00 pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear Headline Speakers, Pat Kelly, President Whistler Real Estate, Helmut Pastrick, Chief Economist Central Credit Union, and Val Litwin, President CEO BC Chamber of Commerce. There will be Panel speakers, Mayor Jack Crompton, Barret Fisher, President CEO of Tourism Whistler and Peter Sonntag, Chief Operating Officer, Whistler Blackcomb. Let us know if you would like free tickets, it is by invite only and you are invited!
Remember we said the market will start to pick up about the 3rd week of January? Have a look at these numbers. There are 30 new listings in Whistler compared to only 10 sales. When you see 15 price reductions, you know that the market is shifting. Pricing your property for the current market conditions is most important. The question is “do you want to list, or do you want to get your house sold?” Price it to sell it! There were a couple of quick subjects or subject free offers that happened this past week in both Whistler and Pemberton with buyers that have just been “waiting” for the right place at the right price. If you are thinking of selling let us know and we can tell you where the demand is at for your particular property. If you see a property you are interested in be sure to let us know, you might not be the only one looking at!
