Greetings from Whistler!
It has been wet and soggy here in the resort but that hasn’t deterred people from being out and about riding bikes and strolling in the Village. We hear the hotels are booked and the restaurants are full, which is a good sign for Fall. Check out all the Activities in Whistler that you and the whole family can do together. Next up is the Legendary Turkey Sale on Thanksgiving weekend, Oct. 11th – 14th. If you are planning ahead, don’t forget Whistler’s famous Cornucopia Nov. 7th – 17th; book in advance to make sure you get tickets to your favorite events, some are already sold out!
The inventory of properties available for sale is steadily increasing in Whistler and we are now at 358 listings, compared with 232 in September 2018. Last year at this time we had 69 Chalets on the market and, currently, we have 111 Chalets listed; this represents a 60% increase. The average price of a home is down slightly (5%), but it’s interesting to note that 77 of these chalets are listed over $2.5 million. The average price of a condo in Whistler is up 16% to $744,930 compared to $640,482 last year. This is mainly due to increased demand of purchasers looking for Phase 1 and 2 rental condos.
