Greetings from Whistler and Pemberton,

Canada Day and July 4th were each celebrated this year as we were allowed to mingle and be together.  It was one of the best weekends in the last 2 years for Whistler, it almost felt like “who let the dogs out?”,  the first real days of summer with beautiful sunshine and blue skies upon us.  I think we have to plan our days outside and just get out there and enjoy them, rain or shine!  The village is bustling with happy guests, the restaurant’s are busy (a reminder you need to make reservations) and we are finally back to normal occupancy, it feels good.  Welcome back to all our visitors, we are happy you are here!

As the global markets are in turmoil, the real estate market is cooling off too.  Again, this week only 6 sales in Whistler and 4 in Pemberton.  I have to say this is typical for the end of the school year as families focus on kids getting out of school and on to the holidays they have planned.  We saw 10 price reductions in Whistler and 8 in Pemberton, another indication of the market conditions.  We are unique in many ways in that we are a resort area and people always want to own a little piece of paradise.  People just need confidence in buying right now and with all the out lying issues globally, some are sitting on the fence waiting to see what happens.  But, having said that, we will always see people buying here because Whistler is the # 1 Ski Resort in North America and they want to be here! Any questions please reach out, we would love to discuss the market with you.
