WOW summer has arrived, and it is stunning in both Whistler and Pemberton so far this week. Today was realtors tour for Whistler and we travelled around in Tracey’s pink convertible cabrio for fun, it always puts a smile on people’s faces. The Village is active, the travellers have arrived to enjoy the magic of Whistler. Farmers markets are in full swing up and down the corridor with Fridays afternoons in Pemberton, Saturday Squamish and Sunday’s in Whistler. A great way to find some local treasures by amazing artisans and plenty of fresh produce!
The market continues to shift as we see more new listings than sales as well as more price adjustments. With the interest rate hike as a looming threat this does affect buyers in certain segments of our markets. Our second quarter market update report included “In terms of sales volume, the Whistler market remains fairly “normal”. Sales slowed slightly throughout the quarter, but the number of sales year-to-date remains in line with the 10- year average for Whistler. Inventory continued to rebound throughout the quarter, rising about 40% from Q1 2022, but still 10% shy of where we were sitting a year ago. Even as sales have slowed and inventory increased, prices for Whistler properties continued to climb year-over-year for both chalets and condos. This quarter also marked the sell-out of the new Cheakamus Crossing WHA units, allowing many Whistler locals to fulfill their dreams of owning a property in Whistler. Despite economic conditions, Whistler and Pemberton remain desirable places to live or own property and demand is still much stronger than supply which will continue to bolster our markets. Well-priced properties will continue to sell!”

New Mountain Bike Skills Park Opening in Pemberton
Another great reason to call Pemberton home! The Village of Pemberton (VOP) is hosting an opening ceremony for the new park from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m Saturday July 16th. This will include bike demos, live music and giveaways courtesy of project partners like the Pemberton Off Road Cycling Association (PORCA) and Chromag. The park’s features include an asphalt pump track, dirt jumps and several skill features.
