Happy New Year!!

It has been a wonderful holiday season and we have appreciated every single day. Whistler is truly magical at Christmas time.  The sparkling lights dazzling against the snowy background make it a picture perfect Winter Wonderland.  We were lucky to have huge dumps of snow so the skiing and boarding have been unbelievably great!

The Whistler Real Estate Company is presenting The View From Here 2019 taking place on February 2,  2019, at The Maury Young Arts Centre.  The View From Here is a half-day event with an invite-only audience. Our goal is to bring together idea-focused minds that include community leaders and policymakers to provide insight into the factors that impact Whistler’s business and investment environment. This year’s theme of “Charting the Course” aims to delve into the various opportunities and challenges thatWhistler faces and how they may be addressed moving forward. MARKET UPDATE

Hard to imagine it has already been 3 weeks since our last Market Update which was sent on Dec. 18th. The real estate activity was very quiet during the holidays, typical for this time of the year.  Overall the number of transactions for 2018 are down approximately 26% in Whistler and 19% in Pemberton from 2017, which was a very busy year for sales.  The average values are up in Whistler and Pemberton 2018 over 2017. Whistler Single Family homes average vales are up +2.6%, townhouses at +32%, Condos +10%, Lots +27%.  Meanwhile, Pemberton single-family homes are up +9.8%, townhouses +23%, Condos +13%.  The number of listings has increased to 222 in Whistler and 59 in Pemberton but this is still a low inventory.
