Greetings from Whistler,

This week has been a little of everything weather wise; rain and snow on the top of the mountains and in the valley, with a sprinkle of sunshine just to put a smile on our faces. Opening day is set for November 22nd- let’s hope mother nature brings us a few big snowfalls before then. This week is the beginning of the Cornucopia Fall Festival, 11 days of fantastic events featuring wine, food, and entertainment. Check out the Festival Website to browse and purchase tickets.

We do all know that Whistler sells itself on lifestyle and being an amazing year-round resort, it really is a spectacular place to live or escape to! The market is starting to slow down in certain segments and we are seeing price reductions. With the prices softening, this may be your opportunity to jump into the market!

There were 63 sales in October 2018 compared with 80 in Oct. 2017. Year to date the total Whistler sales for 2018 are 701 compared to 965 last year at this time. Our advice to people who are thinking about selling in the spring is to consider selling now, we do not know what the market will be like 6 months from now. Call us to discuss the reasons why; we have seen the market like this before.

Pemberton Market
The market for Pemberton is holding steady this week with 5 new listings, 5 sales and 3 price adjustments. The developer of Gateway is offering some pretty big incentives on a couple of the current listings and a gorgeous custom home just listed above the floodplain on Dogwood. Year to date sales we are down in numbers with 2017 showing 179 sales and 2018 at 118. The market is stabilizing and we expect this will continue for the next little while. We are definitely still low on listings so if you are considering a move let us know and we can send you a more specific market update, there are still many buyers waiting for their new Pemberton home!
