December is here, and the Village is glowing with lights, entertainment, and winter fun! Last weekend’s Whistler Winterlight was a resounding success, with many hitting the mountains for some early-season turns. On December 15th, the federal government will implement new mortgage rules aimed at making homeownership more accessible for those using insured mortgages. The price cap for insured mortgages will increase from $1 million to $1.5 million, allowing buyers within this range to qualify for high loan-to-value mortgage insurance, provided their loan-to-value ratio is at least 80%.
Additionally, the Bank of Canada is set to make its next rate announcement on December 11th, and many are anticipating another rate drop.
