It’s been a bit of a soggy week here with a bit of sunshine off and on to brighten our days. Whistler and Pemberton have continued to lure the guests over the weekend as we come to the end of the summer activities, the bike park, golfing and paddleboarding. The real estate market hasn’t cooled off yet and if the inventory remains as low as it is, it will continue to drive the prices up. The existing six-seater Creekside Gondola is set to be replaced with a new high-speed, eight-person gondola, while the high-speed quad Big Red Express will be swapped out for a new high-speed, six-person chair. The projects, planned for the 2022-23 winter season, are part of a $320 million capital plan announced by Whistler Blackcomb parent company Vail Resorts on Thursday, Sept. 23.
