Another spectacular weather week for the Sea to Sky and beyond. It feels like summer between 12-5pm and then we feel the crisp air and remember that Fall is coming! It is hard to think about putting on our long johns when people are still out paddle boarding and surfing on the lakes. The annual “Turkey Sale” is this weekend, if you are needing new ski/boarding gear this is a great place to start. This is going to be a busy weekend for Whistler and Pemberton with the Farmer’s markets wrapping up Friday 3-6pm for Pemberton and Sunday all day for Whistler – be sure to stop in and get some yummy goodies for your Thanksgiving dinner.
We had an office meeting today to discuss what everyone is feeling with the market and one of the common comments was actually, with how amazing the weather has been we are finding people are still out camping, golfing and biking while they can and not as focussed on finding their home for the coming season. The interest rates are of course playing a part as well as Buyers do not feel the urgency we had just 6 months ago, with more listings on the market they have more selection.
We are still very low for overall inventory compared to our yearly averages. Whistler has a total of just 230 listings including 60 active chalets, 38 townhomes, 62 condominiums, 11 duplexes, 32 shared ownership, 25 vacant land listings, 1 parking stall and one WHA. Pemberton is sitting at 63 listings with 19 chalets, 8 chalets with acreage, 7 townhomes, 5 duplexes, 9 condos and 14 vacant land.
