

Hello from Whistler and Pemberton,
Winter has returned to the mountains, and the fresh snowfall has been incredible—setting the stage for an amazing Spring Break for anyone heading up to enjoy Whistler. Check out what is happening in Whistler this week here.
February market recap showed 41* sales in the Whistler market, which is a 17% increase in sales from January and about 15% shy of the 47* unit sold in February of last year. Inventory increased 5% from January to February with 290 units available, and 76* new units coming to market in the month. In Pemberton, there were 6* sales in February keeping pace with sales volume from the previous two months. 11* new units came to market in the month, for total inventory of 55* units, sitting just up from January’s (almost) two-year inventory low.
Economists predicted a rate decrease at the Bank of Canada’s March 12 meeting, which went through this am. Bank of Canada reduces policy rate by 25 basis points to 2¾%. This could help fuel purchasing power and decision-making despite uncertainty, ultimately supporting our economy.
Following up on last week’s newsletter about where our buyers are coming from, we’ve also been getting the question: ‘Who is currently listing their property in Whistler?’ Over the past 7 days, there have been 21 new listings. Title searches reveal that 18 are Canadian-owned, 2 are American, and 1 is from the UK
