We are still feeling a bit of the Juneuary weather here in the mountains, but we hear that summer is on its way. It does make it tough to golf in the rain and the cool temperatures but there is plenty of other things to do in Whistler. This is the July 1st Canada Day long weekend, bringing to Whistler a great parade on Sunday in the Village. The parade starts at the Olympic Plaza at noon, through the village to mountain square. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra free Concerts at the Olympic Plaza are happening throughout the weekend. Whistler Blackcomb is in full operation building the new 130 Meter Suspension Bridge that is the longest and highest in North America, yet another attraction to Whistler. The Whistler Creek Bike Park opened June 16th, Whistler Creekside Rocks!
Let’s talk real estate. The new rules are in effect now and for most consumers, it won’t mean much of a change. You should just be aware that there are new forms to review with you and sign. We are obligated to give you the information prior to discussing anything about “the” market that is not available publicly. The Real Estate Rule changes are set out online for you and if you have any questions, just let us know. Whistler has had a busy week, the tourists are here, revenues are up and so are buyers. The inventory is pretty strong with 16 new listings which give the buyers more to choose from. As you can see there were 14 happy families who bought Whistler properties in the last week. Pemberton held its monthly realtor’s tour last Thursday with 11 new listings between $419,000 to $1,999,000. This is up substantially from the 3-5 we were seeing through the winter. Steady as she goes Pemberton is a residential market and this time of year things tend to slow with so many other activities happening for families.
