Greetings from Whistler,

There is no denying it, these are difficult times for everyone and there are no words to express how hard it is to see the heartbreaking news of the global pandemic. It is disappointing for many that Whistler Blackcomb has closed for the remainder of the ski season but we know we need to do everything we can to reduce the spread of COVID-19. I was out on Alta Lake XC skiing, looking up at the mountains and feeling the stillness of both the mountains and the skies.  There were no helicopters, no gondolas and no Peak to Peak Gondola, There was nobody skiing down the mountain like little ants on the snow.

If we all do our best to reduce contact with others and protect those that are more vulnerable we hopefully will see Whistler return to our normal activity. How much time and no one knows but it will come and this shall pass.  For the next few weeks, we can get outside and enjoy the sunshine and fabulous weather.  There is lots to do here in Whistler and the Pemberton Valley while maintaining social distancing, including hiking, xc skiing, walking, and soaking up the Vitamin D.  Keep in touch with loved ones and neighbors, stay active, get outside, wash your hands, be diligent about protecting yourself and others and believe. The health care system will be taxed so please follow the guidelines – it will make a difference.

The banks are offering record low-interest rates if you are thinking of buying or refinancing and for Canadian mortgage holders, there are mortgage deferral options coming into action from the 6 major banks.  Our government is working with us to help navigate through this unknown territory and we are all grateful for that.

Tracey and I are working from home as our offices are closed to the public for this period of time, we here to answer any of your questions, so please send them our way.  In the short term, we are able to give you market evaluations on your property if you are thinking of selling.   As you can see by this Market Update, the market was fairly active this past week, sellers still want to sell and buyers still want to buy.  This is still a great place to own real estate, it is a fabulous lifestyle here and people love coming to Whistler and Pemberton!  We look forward to hearing from you and hope you and your families are healthy.
